Ascend Systems and Risk Consultancy Inc. (Asterisk Inc.) was formed to address the needs of local clients for expert advise in Risk Management to make it available at arms reach 24/7.
The depth and thoroughness in doing risk assessments though is kept thorough and at par with international practice as it conforms with the standards of the Institute of Risk Management, UK.
Our team is composed of of seasoned and experienced risk management and systems enhancement professionals who has worked with both multinational companies and top notable companies in the Philippines in facing and addressing risk management challenges unique to each of our client’s operation.
Asterisk Inc. works hand in hand with its clients to understand their risks and provides risk management solution and approach tailor fitted to each of our client’s needs, providing solutions suited to the local environment, legislations and culture in which the business operates.

SUSANA C. ALVAREZ
Managing Director
Susana C. Alvarez has over 18 years of solid HR experience in all facets of Human Resource Management gained from various industries. She developed several HR programs and initiatives including establishing a company’s Training Institute, formation of company values, designing salary structure, development and delivery of training programs, certification of subject matter experts, designing an employee handbook, facilitation of strategic and business planning, development of performance management system, audit on HR compliance to Labor standards and Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001), establishing HR policies and procedures, development, maintenance and implementation of employee code of conduct and discipline, formulation of job description, formulation of competency-based interview tools, development of competency model, establishing career development and technical ladder and other HR related interventions.

Raymund S. Torres
President and CEO
Raymund has for the last 24 years been seriously involved in Risk Management Practice. In the first 10 years of his career Raymund has undergone extensive training and experience in the fields of Risk Engineering, Risk Assessment and Loss Control. Upon joining JLTIB, Raymund undertook extensive training in Risk Management which eventually led him to achieve a Diploma from the IRM (Institute of Risk Management), UK.
Likewise, Raymund has also achieved another Diploma course on Business Continuity Management, USA.
This qualifies him as a Certified Continuity Manager (CCM) and has assisted corporate Clients in formulating their BCP plan.
